Reading is valuable both for self-education and for occupying time which would otherwise be used for idleness or vice. In light of the president’s remarks on Canadian annexation, the April 2025 Canadian parliamentary election, the revival of two Canadian provincial separatist movements, and the ongoing self-delegitimization of the Canadian state; I took it upon myself to use much of my free time to learn about Canada.

It is a country governed by a single state which is populated by several nations and numerous communities, none of which constitute a majority. The Canadian state has formally recognized several of these nations and communities. It, through legislation, customs, and court decisions, treats them differently.

Indeed, so cold that the entirety of Greenland had been buried beneath a great ice sheet since before Man spread out Africa.
