Amy Plitt’s Biography
Read Full Bio →I'm the editor of Curbed NY, the website for people who love where they live—particularly if that place is New York City.
I currently live in Brooklyn, where I like to commandeer the jukebox at a number of Park Slope dive bars. I’m also interested in cats, beer, British music from the mid- to late-’90s, biking, feminism and cooking elaborate meals in my tiny kitchen.

My first writing assignment was a piece for Time Out New York Kids, but my first job was as the assistant to the managing editor at TONY.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! I worked for a book publisher in college (doing customer service) that used one for all correspondence. And this was in 2001.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Always, always through e-mail. I look at every pitch I receive; timely, interesting/new stories about NYC are best!
