ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- After Judge Kate Schaefer denied a request for a local preliminary injunction against the St. Joseph School District, attorneys returned to the Buchanan County Courthouse Tuesday for another hearing. During the hearing, Judge Schaefer scheduled a bench trial for Nov. 16–19. The lawsuit was filed by We the People–3 Schools Inc., a Missouri nonprofit corporation, against the St. Joseph School District in Buchanan County.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- Fire crews responded to a structure fire early Tuesday morning, July 7th in the 2900 block of North 12th Street. The fire involved a mobile home, with firefighters arriving on scene around 4 a.m. Crews were able to quickly contain the blaze. SJFD said no one was inside the home when the fire started. However, a dog was unable to escape and died in the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- The St. Joseph School District Board of Education will hold a town hall Monday for community members to engage in, which will be followed by a special work session. Before the work session begins, the district will host a town hall where administrators will give an update on the district's finances and its Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP). Community members will also have a chance to speak during the town hall.
