Small businesses get a lift with $5M dollars in grant money from The Community Foundation, LiftFund

The CEO of the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, Austin Dickson, announced Thursday morning, July 30, that the nonprofit organization would offer nearly $18 million in grants and support for the Texas Hill Country. Dickson noted at a press conference held outside Gibsons in Kerrville that the two historic floods in 2025 and 2026 had “changed everything in the Hill Country.” He also said that the most recent flood came just as the community was beginning to heal.

Council debates funding for Granger-MacDonald Park

On Tuesday, July 28, the Kerrville City Council met at City Hall to discuss three motions. The most debated was the motion to approve the construction contract with JK Bernhard Construction for the Granger-MacDonald Park. Resident Barbara Ferguson reminded the council of the failed Megaacrete Systems construction project started in 2023. The city authorized and began road construction in preparation for the large warehouse Megaacrete Systems planned to build in the city.
