RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Friday is a First Alert Weather day due to the potential for strong to severe storms. A flood watch is in effect from Friday afternoon to Friday evening. Strong to severe storms are expected in the afternoon, bringing a flooding concern for most of central and southern VA. Areas that saw significant rainfall earlier this week are especially at risk, as the ground is already saturated. Flash flooding in these areas is possible with just 1″ of rain in 30-60 minutes.
