Ryan Chung—or R. Chung if you know him from the Toronto scene—is an actor, journalist, and host who’s been in the mix from local talent shows to national broadcasts.

He got his first big break with the 2009 MuchMusic VJ Search, which led to gigs with MTV Canada and Corus Entertainment.

Ryan’s love for storytelling has taken him across Canada and parts of the U.S., from Victoria Island in BC to Harbourfront Centre, Toronto City Hall, and the Pan Am Games.

Augie’s Quest Friday, March 13 | 9:00 AM Shotgun This March, Bay Club is bringing our community together for a weekend in support of ALS research. As a company, our goal is to raise $1 million dollars with all proceeds going straight to finding the cure for ALS. At StoneTree, we will be hosting a Scramble Tournament on Friday, March 13. The cost is $100 per player which covers your greens fee, cart fee, lunch, and a drink.

What was your first job as a journalist?

I worked at a local radio station as their only news reporter. I had to chase, produce, edit and talk about it.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. One time in kindergarten. I'm glad I have a TV now.

How is social media changing news?

Rather waiting for the next day, or the 5pm news...We're able to get update almost instantaneously.
