What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

There are far too many to name, but one of my all-time favorites is a piece I wrote for my own publication, deep-diving into food insecurity.

When's the best time to pitch you?

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

I once received a pitch with the subject “Boo! Bad hair is the scariest look of this Halloween.” I sent them a pic of my frizzy, curly hair.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

My students’ work in Central Michigan Life and CM-Life.com. Seeing them succeed and publish a tough story is much better than writing my own.
