Correction: Targeting surface nucleolin induces autophagy-dependent cell death in pancreatic cancer via AMPK activation
Following publication of this article the authors noted inadvertent overlap between mice featured in Figure 6b, specifically between Vehicle/Day 0 and LZ1 4 mg/kg day 28 and LZ1 2 mg/kg day 21 and LZ1 4 mg/kg day 21. The authors apologise for any inconvenience caused. The authors apologise for any inconvenience caused. About this article Xu, C., Wang, Y., Tu, Q. et al. Correction: Targeting surface nucleolin induces autophagy-dependent cell death in pancreatic cancer via AMPK activation.
Angiotensin II exacerbates intracerebral hemorrhage in mice via heparin-like antithrombin activation and coagulation dysfunction
Abstract Hypertension has paradoxical prothrombotic-hemorrhagic predisposition toward cerebral infarction and intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), but the mechanism remains poorly understood. We observed Angiotensin II (Ang II) inhibited coagulation by activating antithrombin through heparin-like acceleration of antithrombin-thrombin interaction. Ang II allosterically modulates the 386-397 loop of antithrombin to enhance thrombin inhibition.
Molecular defense strategy of volatile organic compound-emitting plants (order Piperales) against herbivorous mammals - Communications Biology
Abstract Plants have evolved diverse strategies to defend against herbivores, including structural barriers such as trichomes and tough leaves, the production of toxic secondary metabolites, the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and the recruitment of natural predators to deter herbivory. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying their ability to deter large herbivorous mammals remain poorly understood.
Discovery of a molecular glue for EGFR degradation - Oncogene
Abstract Aberrant expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of various tumors, potentially representing a target for therapeutic intervention. Nonetheless, EGFR remains a challenging protein to target pharmacologically in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). An emerging approach to address the removal of such proteins is the application of molecular glue (MG) degraders.
Gating elements for carvacrol activation of the OTOP1 proton channel - Communications Biology
Abstract Otopetrin 1 (OTOP1) is a proton-activated channel crucial for animals’ perception of sour taste. Despite its significance, the gating mechanism of OTOP1 remains poorly understood. Here, we demonstrate that carvacrol activates the mouse OTOP1 (mOTOP1) channel under neutral and acidic conditions. Functional analysis showed that carvacrol enhances pH fluorescence signals in OTOP1-expressing cells, with reduced efficacy at lower pH levels.

Bioactive Peptides from Barnacles and Their Potential for Antifouling Development
1. Introduction The phenomenon of biofouling, which refers to the adhesion of undesired organisms onto solid surfaces, poses a global challenge, entailing significant economic and environmental consequences. As recorded, the financial costs associated with biofouling control have ranged from USD 1.5 to 3 billion per year [1,2]. The scientific community has dedicated significant efforts to exploring suitable strategies for inhibiting the fouling process, with a particular focus on barnacles [3].
