City of Calexico Previews FY26-27 Budget - Calexico Chronicle

C ALEXICO - On Wednesday, June 10, the Calexico City Council convened in a special meeting to discuss the city's budget for the upcoming 2026-2027 fiscal year. According to a staff report, the proposed citywide budget authorizes $159 million in annual spending, including $110 million in capital projects, which accounts for 69 percent of the budget.

I MPERIAL - The Imperial City Council unanimously approved a temporary 45-day moratorium on data centers and other high-energy industrial and technology developments during its regular meeting on Wednesday, June 3. This decision comes amidst a recent wave of interest in data center development within the city, such as the previously proposed 250 MW data center and a separate 330 MW large-scale data center proposed within the unincorporated county of Imperial.
