Risk-stratified treatment for drug-susceptible pulmonary tuberculosis - Nature Communications
Abstract The Phase 3 randomized controlled trial, TBTC Study 31/ACTG A5349 (NCT02410772) demonstrated that a 4-month rifapentine-moxifloxacin regimen for drug-susceptible pulmonary tuberculosis was safe and effective. The primary efficacy outcome was 12-month tuberculosis disease free survival, while the primary safety outcome was the proportion of grade 3 or higher adverse events during the treatment period.

Like COVID, TB is a Pandemic and Must be Treated as an Emergency
In 1993, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared tuberculosis (TB) a global public health emergency. It urged nations to coordinate efforts to avert millions of deaths. In January 2020, the WHO declared COVID-19, another airborne infectious disease, a public health emergency of international concern. The similarity between the global responses to these two pandemics ends there.

Preventing tuberculosis in people with HIV-no more excuses
In 2014, tuberculosis eclipsed HIV as the leading infectious killer on earth and it remains the foremost cause of death for people with HIV infection.
