Erie Diocese and St. Jude Parish complete car raffle refunds

The Diocese of Erie and St. Jude Parish have concluded an independent review and refund process for a parish car raffle. A total of 644 refunds were issued, returning $114,488 to participants across the country. The review was conducted by the independent firm HBKVG and officially closed after approximately 700 individuals submitted requests for refunds. The process was established to resolve the raffle matter responsibly after ticket sales reached approximately $185,000.

One person hospitalized following Springfield Twp. car accident

One person was sent to the hospital after a car accident in Springfield Township on Sunday morning. The incident happened around 10:20 a.m. when rescue and medical personnel from Springfield Volunteer Fire Company and West County Paramedics were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Happy Valley and Lucas roads.

Warren General Hospital earns critical access hospital status

Posted: Feb 7, 2026 / 08:42 AM EST Updated: Feb 7, 2026 / 08:42 AM EST Warren General Hospital received notice on Feb. 6, 2026, that it has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The federal designation is retroactive to Jan. 14, 2026. The status is intended to ensure that 24/seven essential emergency care and medical services remain permanent in Warren and surrounding rural areas.
