Two men jailed following investigation into robbery near Dorchester

Two men, Cain Hughes, 23, and Kalup Hughes, 34, were sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 29th. The Court sentenced Cain to three years in jail. Kalup received a sentence of five years and four months. At around 7.40 pm on Friday, 14 February 2025, Dorset Police had received multiple calls involving two men in the area of Crossways in Dorchester. The pair stopped other motorists and asked for assistance with their broken-down Ford Focus near the Woodsford level crossing.

Delays on the Southern Western Railway this morning between Weymouth and Wareham, after a person died on tracks near Wool railway station, have now ended and trains are back and running. Replacement buses are no longer running.
