What was your first job as a journalist?
My first assignment was to shoot former Prime Minister of Australia Bob Hawke welcoming winners of the Americas Cup in 1983.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Only when 13 and it was crazy, no typos and lots of restarts.
How is social media changing news?
Social media is a gateway for trolls, haters and stalkers. It is a brilliant source of free information to journalists.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
I have social responsibilities to expose untruths , corruption , reward and recognize winners and social champions.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I want to be known as a journalist that's not intimidated by people, who brings that story as RAW and confronting as it maybe to the public.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Sony A7, Windows Surface pro and a great suit.
What's your favorite social network?
Facebook for Laughs and Giggles, Instagram to see the same people without clothes on and Linkedin to see the very same people act serious :P
Who do you wish followed you?
Louis Sebastian Theroux , a British journalist and documentary filmmaker with the BBC. Its what I want to do one day.
Why did you become a journalist?
As a photographer in my younger days I worked with so many journalists who simply didn't get the whole story to save time.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I wanted to but I was often bullied as a kid .
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'm yet to write it, I'm yet to discover the burning story, maybe its my own? Seven years living with a stalker!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Work with images that can make your story come alive and work with subjects that you are passionate about.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any story is worth five minutes. If you cant convince me in five minutes I can create a headliner don't bother.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
A fashion designer struggling with a troll on social media supported by the high profile partner of a Sydney radio host who hates 'Trolls'.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
From a model demanding I take her pictures and work with her because in her words " Look at me I'm beautiful."
What's your favorite drink?
Champaign of course.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Spending time in the great outdoors
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I do love spending hours browsing through old copies of Nat Geo.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That I get paid a fortune to do what I do .
