Another steamy, stormy day on deck for Thursday

OHIO — We will feel the heat build this afternoon as temperatures soar back into the mid to upper 80s. Some northern spots could get up into the lower 90s. Adding the humidity will make it feel hotter; feels-like temperatures in the 90s to near 100 degrees peak afternoon. A Heat Advisory in effect through 8 p.m. Thursday for northern Ohio. Please be aware of the heat dangers and limit time outdoors while staying hydrated.

OHIO — Prepare for an pre-summer heat event with back-to-back days of severe weather potential. For Wednesday, there's a warm front that lifts northward, which gives us a hot forecast by the afternoon. Temperatures soar into the upper 80s to lower 90s with high dew points in the lower 70s — it will feel much hotter! Feels-like temperatures range from mid 90s to near 100-plus across the state. It'll be our hottest weather yet this year.

Court ruling sows confusion over crypto’s status in South Africa

A court ruling this week has cast doubt on the legal status of cryptocurrency in South Africa. The Gauteng division of the High Court of South Africa ruled on June 1 that cryptocurrency, at least in the form of bitcoin, constituted both “money” and “capital”. Judge Stuart Wilson gave the ruling in the case of Mangundhla & Dangaiso v South African Reserve Bank (Sarb), as published by the Southern African Legal Information Institute. However, his judgement contradicted a May 2025 High Court ruling
