RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A cold front will be approaching the area later in the day Thursday and will likely trigger scattered thunderstorms across our area. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) now has a Level 2 out of 5, Slight Risk, of severe storms over eastern Virginia with a Level 1 out of 5, Marginal Risk in our western and northwestern counties.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - We are adding a First Alert Weather Day tag for Tuesday and Wednesday this week as we see the potential for scattered thunderstorms over our region. While there is still some question as to how many storms will fire up over the area each day, where they do develop, they could be strong to severe with the main concern strong, potentially damaging wind gusts. Very heavy rainfall would also be likely and localized flooding could occur in any slower moving storms.

An early look at timing suggests storm will be possible in the window of 2pm to 9pm. We have a level 2 out of 5 or SLIGHT RISK of severe storms over all of the 12 On Your Side viewing area Saturday afternoon and evening.
