A composer falling increasingly more into writing about music, because I can't not!...

I write books, reviews, articles..

An experienced composer of primarily ambient electronic/instrumental works, in 2016, Perspectives on the Music of Christopher Fox (Routledge), was followed by Writing to Louis Andriessen (Lecturis), in 2019. Both books Edited and initiated by Rose Dodd. I secured two distinct publishers for two distinct book project outcomes, both within the niche area of contemporary music…

Have you ever used a typewriter?

yes! My dad's manual in the 70s, writing stories.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Writing about today's music, I interrogate contextual narratives surrounding the making of the work: who made it, how, why, its heritage.

Why did you become a journalist?

Discovering what a journalist meant, I instantly filed it as cool, something which fitted. It's taken longer to begin to inhabit it.
