BMW’s M-division has been at the peak of performance engineering for over 40 years, with the Bavarian skunkworks developing many notable M-cars over the years, including the V8, 400hp E39 M5 and the performance saloon which set the benchmark for competitors to follow, the E30 M3. Amongst these worshiped, great gods however, there was one M-powered Beemer which struggled to uphold the recognition in the family.
