Natural bioactive compounds targeting the macrophage clock in asthma: evidence, challenges, and perspectives
Abstract Background: Nocturnal asthma and airway remodeling are intimately linked to pulmonary circadian dysfunction. The dysregulation of core clock genes (e.g., Bmal1, Rev-erbα) in macrophages drives metabolic reprogramming and pro-fibrotic signaling. Pharmacological modulation of this clock using natural bioactive compounds offers a promising therapeutic strategy.
Evaluating search-enabled large language model interfaces for mpox public health consultation: a guideline-based comparative study
Abstract Background: Search-enabled large language model interfaces are increasingly used by the public for health information, but their performance in mpox-related public health consultation remains unclear. This study evaluated their safety, accuracy, empathy, reliability/information quality, and readability. Methods: We conducted a single-query comparative cross-sectional evaluation using 52 predefined mpox-related public consultation questions.

Machine learning-based prediction of overall survival in non-metastatic renal cell carcinoma after radical nephrectomy
Abstract Prognostic heterogeneity remains a challenge for non-metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients following radical nephrectomy (RN). This study aimed to develop and validate multiple machine learning models to predict overall survival (OS) in these patients using the SEER database. A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients diagnosed with non-metastatic RCC who underwent RN between 2004 and 2022, identified from the SEER database.
TRIM28-mediated SUMOylation of SREBF1 drives PD‑L1 N‑glycosylation and immune evasion in bladder cancer
Abstract Bladder cancer progression is frequently accompanied by metabolic reprogramming and immune escape, yet how these processes are coupled remains unclear. Sterol regulatory element-binding transcription factor 1 (SREBF1) governs lipid homeostasis and is often deregulated in cancer. We find that SREBF1 is upregulated in human bladder tumours and associates with invasion, metastasis and poor patient outcome, critically, it sustains tumor growth by driving immune evasion.
Satellite altimetry reveals spatially nonlocal kinetic energy cascade in the global ocean
Abstract The transfer of kinetic energy (KE) across spatial scales has traditionally been viewed as a process where KE lost or gained by larger-scale motions is balanced by smaller-scale motions within the same region.
Modelling the impact of interactive interface features on user experience in artificial intelligence driven digital learning systems
Abstract In the evolving online education system, Interface Design (ID) plays a crucial role in facilitating the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI)– driven Digital Learning Systems (DLS). While significant research has commonly analyzed educational methods, the accuracy of quantifying the impact of specific Interactive Interface Features (IIFs) on User Experience (UX) remains underdeveloped.

Gastric Mucosal Status and Risk of Gastric Cancer in High‐Risk Individuals: A Population‐Based, Multicenter Prospective Study in China
1 Introduction Although the overall incidence of gastric cancer has shown a declining trend over the years, the burden of it remains significant, with 968,350 new cases worldwide [1, 2]. The age-standardized incidence (ASI) of gastric cancer is notably higher in regions such as East Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America, while it is lower in Northern Europe, North America, and Africa [2].

Temporal variability of global surface eddy diffusivities: Estimates and machine learning prediction
Abstract Mesoscale eddies, ubiquitous in the global ocean, play a key role in the climate system by stirring and mixing key tracers. Estimating, understanding, and predicting eddy diffusivity is of great significance for designing suitable eddy parameterization schemes for coarse-resolution climate models. This is because climate model results are sensitive to the choice of eddy diffusivity magnitudes.
Plant Genotype Shapes the Soil Nematode Community in the Rhizosphere of Tomatoes with Different Resistance to Meloidognye incognita

Low-cost table-top experiments for teaching multi-scale geophysical fluid dynamics
1 Introduction Oceanic and atmospheric flows have instabilities occurring over a vast range of length and time scales (e.g., Vallis, 2017). The need to understand multi-scale processes is inherent to any careful consideration of geophysical fluid systems. In this paper, we present a suite of easily built, analog desktop experiments that provide concrete demonstrations of multi-scale ocean dynamics.
Arctic weather routing: a review of ship performance models and ice routing algorithms
1 Introduction Considering global climate change and the acceleration of Arctic sea ice melting (Guemas et al., 2016), the opening of the Arctic Northeast Passage (NEP) will become a reality (Li et al., 2021a). The emergence of this new route will provide a new option for maritime trade between Asia and Europe.

Topographic Hotspots of Southern Ocean Eddy Upwelling
Introduction The ocean has absorbed 93% of excess heat from anthropogenic climate change (Levitus et al., 2012) and therefore plays a crucial role in the Earth’s climate. Upwelling of cold water from the depths of the Southern Ocean to its surface is the primary process that has facilitated this large ocean heat uptake (Marshall and Speer, 2012; Morrison et al., 2015; Armour et al., 2016).

Introduction The southeastern tropical Atlantic (SETA: 10–20°S, 5°W–15°E) encompasses a highly-productive ecosystem off Angola which is located just north of one of the major global coastal upwelling regions: the Benguela upwelling system (Ostrowski et al., 2009; Kopte et al., 2017).
Can Removing Highways Improve Cities?
Major metropolitan areas, like Rochester, have long been divided up into smaller sections by their highway and interstate systems. For commuters, highways are important for decreasing the amount of time it takes to get downtown in major urban areas and lessening the wear and tear on their cars from driving more miles. However, these highways have created boundaries between residential and industrial areas of town.

Analysis of the Surface Dispersion in the Mediterranean Sub-Basins
Introduction The Mediterranean sub-basins (Tyrrhenian, Adriatic, Ionian, Levantine and Aegean, see Figure 1A for geographical references) are characterized by different dynamics and high variability of surface currents. The chaotic nature of each sub-basin lead to the generation of numerous submesoscale (∼1 km) and mesoscale (>10 km) structures (D’Ovidio et al., 2004, 2008).
