High concordance in molecular profiles between primary tumors and matched lymph node metastases in differentiated thyroid carcinoma: implications for clinical sample selection
Abstract Molecular concordance between primary tumors (PT) and matched lymph node metastases (LNM) in differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) remains further clarified, and the impact of LNM timing has not been evaluated. This study focused on the concordance between PT and LNM in 63 PT-LNM pairs from 55 DTCs, using a 10-gene real-time PCR targeting BRAF V600E, NRAS, HRAS, KRAS, TERT promoter (TERTp), PIK3CA, RET, PPARG, NTRK1, and NTRK3.
Lethal clinical outcome and immune desert contexture in refractory gastric cancer harboring CCNE1 amplification and overexpression
Abstract The epithelial-mesenchymal axis frames gastric cancer heterogeneity but mainly captures phenotypic extremes. CCNE1 gain, encompassing amplification or Cyclin E1 overexpression, represents one intermediate state linked to chromosomal instability and therapeutic resistance. However, its clinicopathologic identity and immune features in gastric cancer remain insufficiently characterised.
Using Artificial Intelligence: Takeaways from TALIS 2024
Education systems around the world are asking if and how to incorporate artificial intelligence into teaching and learning. At the forefront of this conversation are teachers, who must not only monitor their students’ usage of artificial intelligence, but also decide whether to use it themselves.
Shifu: A self-learning framework for automating root cause analysis in logistics operations
Modern logistics networks face a critical challenge in performance documentation that consumes substantial resources yet suffers from inconsistent quality, limited expert review, and context-specificity. We present Shifu, an adaptive knowledge acquisition system for automated root cause analysis that learns continuously from operational feedback without requiring gold standard examples.
Isolation of a Novel Plant Growth‐Promoting Dyella sp. From a Danish Natural Soil
1 Introduction Soils are inhabited by diverse microbial communities that vary in composition across different geographic locations, dependent on factors such as pH, nutrient availability, texture and moisture content (Fierer and Jackson 2006; Karimi et al. 2018; Xia et al. 2020).

Smad4 loss identifies aggressive subtype with immunotherapy and anti-HER-2 treatment resistance in gastric cancer - British Journal of Cancer
Abstract SMAD4 mutation and homozygous deletion represent the most prevalent genomic events driving aggressive biological behavior in gastric cancer (GC). However, clinical outcome and therapeutic response in GC patients with Smad4-loss remains obscure.
Impact of clonal TP53 mutations with loss of heterozygosity on adjuvant chemotherapy and immunotherapy in gastric cancer - British Journal of Cancer
Abstract This study aimed to reveal the effect of TP53 status on clinical outcomes and underlying mechanism in gastric cancer (GC) patients. TP53 status was divided into three groups according to genome sequencing, namely clonal mutations with LOH (C-LOH), clonal diploid or subclonal mutations (CD-SC), and wild type (WT). The p53 protein activity was divided into over-expression (OE), Null and WT according to immunohistochemical staining.

Ten‐year clinical characteristics of patients with early‐onset type 2 diabetes: A single‐center experience in China
1 INTRODUCTION Over the past decades, diabetes has become a global public health problem. According to the International Diabetes Federation, worldwide, 537 million adults aged 20 to 79 have diabetes, with China accounting for 140.9 million cases.1 Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is the most common type of diabetes worldwide and accounts for more than 90% of cases.1 Although T2DM is an age-related disease, the prevalence of diabetes among young adults is rising.
C-type lectin receptor Dectin-1 blockade on tumour-associated macrophages improves anti-PD-1 efficacy in gastric cancer - British Journal of Cancer
Abstract Background This study aimed to investigate the expression and clinical significance of Dendritic cell-associated C-type lectin-1 (Dectin-1) in gastric cancer (GC), and to explore the mechanism of Dectin-1 regulating tumour-associated macrophage (TAM)-mediated immune evasion in GC. Methods The association of Dectin-1+ cells with clinical outcomes was inspected by immunohistochemistry on tumour microarrays.
Intratumoral PD-1+CD8+ T cells associate poor clinical outcomes and adjuvant chemotherapeutic benefit in gastric cancer - British Journal of Cancer
Abstract Background Although PD-1 has been reported to be a marker of T-cell exhaustion in several malignancies, the biological role of PD-1+CD8+ T cells in gastric cancer (GC) remains unclear. Herein, we aimed to investigate the role of PD-1+CD8+ T cells in the tumour microenvironment and its clinical significance in GC.
TIM3+ cells in gastric cancer: clinical correlates and association with immune context - British Journal of Cancer
Abstract Background T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing protein 3 (TIM3) is a crucial immune checkpoint and is considered as an emerging target for cancer treatment. However, the clinical significance and immune-related role of TIM3+ cells in gastric cancer remain unknown. This study aimed to investigate the clinical significance of tumour-infiltrating TIM3+ cells and their association with immune contexture in gastric cancer.
Intratumoral CXCR5+CD8+T associates with favorable clinical outcomes and immunogenic contexture in gastric cancer
Abstract Studies that examined an association between CD8+T and prognosis in gastric cancer are inconsistent, and a distinct population of CXCR5+CD8+T associated with better overall survival has been reported among various malignancies. Here, we show that the abundance of intratumoral CXCR5+CD8+T cells is associated with better overall survival in patients with gastric cancer.
Identification and validation of an immunogenic subtype of gastric cancer with abundant intratumoural CD103+CD8+ T cells conferring favourable prognosis
Abstract Background Intratumoural CD103+CD8+ T cells have been linked to prolonged survival in several malignancies. However, the clinical significance of CD103+CD8+ T cells in gastric cancer remains unexplored. Methods Gastric cancer tissues from Zhongshan Hospital and data from Gene Expression Omnibus were obtained and analysed. Immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry were performed to detect the number and phenotypical characteristics of CD103+CD8+ T cells.

Beneficial bacteria activate nutrients and promote wheat growth under conditions of reduced fertilizer application
Abstract Background Excessive application of chemical fertilizer has exerted a great threat to soil quality and the environment. The inoculation of plants with plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) has emerged as a great prospect for ecosystem recovery. The aim of this work to isolate PGPRs and highlights the effect of bacterial inoculants on available N/P/K content in soil and on the growth of wheat under conditions of reduced fertilizer application.
