Gradient-driven microfluidic framework for the screening of ratiometric drug combinations towards precision oncology in paediatric leukaemia
Abstract Improving outcomes for high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) patients requires increasingly personalized treatment strategies that leverage molecular and omics-based assays as well as functional screens. However, to date, only a few of these approaches are clinically actionable and easily adopted in clinical settings. To that end, we report a combination drug screening assay (GradientScreen) that correlates with clinical outcomes using standard paediatric ALL treatment protocols.

Development of VAScoR: A rubric to qualify and score responses to the views of nature of science (VNOS) questionnaire
CONFLICT OF INTEREST STATEMENT No conflict of interest to declare. REFERENCES (2004a). Over and over and over again: College students' views of nature of science. In L. B. Flick & N. G. Lederman (Eds.), Scientific inquiry and nature of science: Implications for teaching, learning, and teacher education (pp. 389–425). Kluwer. (2004b, April). The relationship between students' views of nature of science and their conceptual understanding of stoichiometry: An empirical assessment.
Crossing boundaries between research and practitioner communities: The role of research use and cross‐community journal authorship
Despite calls for better alignment between research and practice in education, the disconnect between educational researchers and practitioner communities persists (Penuel et al., 2015). Over the decades, scholars and policymakers began initiatives and published extensively on translating research to practice. For instance, the Education Sciences Reform Act of 2002 started the Institute of Education Sciences (IES: Institute of Education Sciences, 2022a).
Single-cell analysis reveals altered tumor microenvironments of relapse- and remission-associated pediatric acute myeloid leukemia - Nature Communications
Abstract Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) microenvironment exhibits cellular and molecular differences among various subtypes. Here, we utilize single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to analyze pediatric AML bone marrow (BM) samples from diagnosis (Dx), end of induction (EOI), and relapse timepoints. Analysis of Dx, EOI scRNA-seq, and TARGET AML RNA-seq datasets reveals an AML blasts-associated 7-gene signature (CLEC11A, PRAME, AZU1, NREP, ARMH1, C1QBP, TRH), which we validate on independent datasets.
High burden of clinically significant adverse events associated with contemporary therapy for pediatric T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma
RESEARCH ARTICLE Preliminary data from this work was presented as an abstract at the 2022 American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA (May 4–7, 2022). Summers RJ et al. Pediatr Blood Cancer. 2022;69(S2):e29735. Abstract Background Despite improvements in survival for children with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and lymphoma (T-ALL/LLy), morbidity remains high.
Draft Genome Sequence of the Bacterium Pseudomonas putida CBB5, Which Can Utilize Caffeine as a Sole Carbon and Nitrogen Source
GENOME ANNOUNCEMENT Due to its widespread use as a stimulant in coffee and other beverages, caffeine is often found in the environment, particularly in the pulp remaining after extracting beans from coffee berries (1) and in surface waters around human population centers (2). Related purine alkaloids have uses in medicine, including as bronchodilators for treating asthma.
