Reassessing the Proposed Creatine–PrP Axis in Endometriosis: Methodological and Mechanistic Considerations
The paper by Chen et al. [1] proposes a novel relationship between creatine metabolism, PrP modulation, and ferroptosis resistance in endometrial stromal cells. This ambitious work offers an original and potentially relevant mechanistic hypothesis for understanding cell survival in endometriosis. However, certain methodological and conceptual aspects warrant careful consideration—not to undermine the authors' proposition, but to contribute to its depth and to strengthen the presented conclusions.
Clinical Diagnosis of Calcium Release Deficiency Syndrome in a Family With Sudden Cardiac Death
Key Points Question Can the calcium release deficiency syndrome (CRDS) burst pacing provocation test be used to diagnose a family with hitherto unexplained sudden cardiac arrest and death? Findings In this case series of a 5-generation family, 5 carriers of a novel RYR2-p.Glu336Gly variant demonstrated diagnostic T-wave augmentation with burst pacing or following spontaneous arrhythmia. The novel RYR2 variant was then confirmed to result in loss of function by functional analysis.

Abstract Wind power is widely recognized as a key component of future net-zero energy systems. However, substantial variability among current wind resource and power simulations used for wind farm deployment limits the reliability of siting and system integration decisions. Therefore, we present a transparent, open source, validated and evaluated, global wind power simulation workflow for the renewable energy simulation tool ETHOS.RESKit.
Extra Ionization Causing the Anomalous Auroral Sporadic E Layer (Esa) Over the Equatorial Brazilian Region During the Recovery Phase of the Magnetic Storm on 10 May 2024
1 Introduction Sporadic E (Es) layers are generally categorized into two primary types: (a) dense layers that can obstruct radio wave propagation to higher altitudes (Resende et al., 2017), and (b) plasma irregular layers that remain transparent to radio signals (Resende et al., 2016). Both types are quasi-continuous and typically occur within the E region of the ionosphere, at altitudes ranging from approximately 100 to 150 km.

A Testbed for Studying the Interactions between Human Operators and Advanced Control Systems
4. Application to Human Factors Studies We now discuss how the testbed may be used to analyze human factors issues that arise in the real-life usage of MPC. The experiments conducted in this work followed a deceptive experimental approach similar to that adopted by Adhitya et al. (Ravi and Kaisare, 2020) to study alarm management systems. The approach involves hiding the true objective of the experiment so that the results are unbiased (Iqbal et al., 2018).

Targeted Dy intercalation under graphene/SiC for tuning its electronic band structure
Abstract Metal intercalation of graphene is a promising method to tune its electronic band structure and generate novel electronic and topological phases. The tuning depends critically on the ability to bond the intercalated atoms at predesigned, subsurface interlayer locations because the emerging band structure depends on metal location.
UTILITY OF A MEDICAL OPTIMIZATION CLINIC IN HEART FAILURE PATIENTS WITH AN IMPLANTED CARDIAC DEVICE
Guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) reduces mortality in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. However, GDMT is not uncommonly de-escalated following implanted cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantation. We describe our experience with the Device Medical Optimization Clinic (DMOC) at Hamilton Health Sciences, which was established to facilitate medical therapy optimization in cardiac device patients.
Numerical study on the peeling-ballooning modes with electron cyclotron wave injection
IV. SUMMARY AND DISCUSSION In this paper, a numerical study on the P–B modes in the presence of ECW injection is carried out by solving the three-field reduced MHD equations using the BOUT++ two-fluid code. The interaction between the ECW and plasma changes the plasma pressure, current density, and resistivity. As is known, the plasma pressure, current density, and resistivity are the direct drive source of the non-ideal peeling–ballooning mode.

Structure of the human Mediator-bound transcription preinitiation complex
Mediating transcription The Mediator complex is recruited by transcription factors to all protein-coding genes in eukaryotes and helps to assemble the machinery necessary to transcribe the gene. Abdella et al. present the cryo–electron microscopy structure of the human Mediator-bound preinitiation complex (Med-PIC).
Hyperbolic enhancement of photocurrent patterns in minimally twisted bilayer graphene
Abstract Quasi-periodic moiré patterns and their effect on electronic properties of twisted bilayer graphene have been intensely studied. At small twist angle θ, due to atomic reconstruction, the moiré superlattice morphs into a network of narrow domain walls separating micron-scale AB and BA stacking regions. We use scanning probe photocurrent imaging to resolve nanoscale variations of the Seebeck coefficient occurring at these domain walls.
Structure of the human Mediator-bound transcription preinitiation complex
Abstract Eukaryotic transcription requires the assembly of a multi-subunit preinitiation complex (PIC) comprised of RNA polymerase II (Pol II) and the general transcription factors. The co-activator Mediator is recruited by transcription factors, facilitates the assembly of the PIC, and stimulates phosphorylation of the Pol II C-terminal domain (CTD) by the TFIIH subunit CDK7. Here, we present the cryo-electron microscopy structure of the human Mediator-bound PIC at sub-4 Å.
Association between the NEDD4L rs4149601 single nucleotide polymorphism and early onset essential hypertension in Caucasian females: a case-control study
Background A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in ubiquitin protein ligase NEDD4-Like (NEDD4L) gene (rs4149601 G/A) was identified to have both functional and genetic bases for hypertension. This polymorphism has been well-characterized, but inconsistently replicated.
High Layer Uniformity of Two-Dimensional Materials Demonstrated Surprisingly from Broad Features in Surface Electron Diffraction
Paradoxically, a very broad diffraction background, named the bell-shaped-component (BSC), has been established as a feature of graphene growth. Recent diffraction studies as a function of electron energy have shown that the BSC is not related to scattering interference. Here, additional experiments are carried out as a function of temperature over the range in which single-layer graphene (SLG) grows.
Bone microstructure of adult patients with non-surgical hypoparathyroidism assessed by high-resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography
Abstract Summary There is limited evidence regarding changes in bone microstructure in patients with hypoparathyroidism. In the current study, we used a non-invasive technique to assess bone structure in hypoparathyroidism patients and discovered site-specific changes which were mainly influenced by age and menstrual status. Such changes were more prominent in the trabeculae as well as in non-surgical as opposed to post-surgical patients.
