Therapeutics of acute myeloid leukemia with central nervous system involvement

Introduction We describe two FLT3-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cases with central nervous system (CNS) involvement. We performed a systematic review of the literature questioning the effectiveness of the main therapeutic strategies in CNS involvement in AML, including either studies for FLT3-ITD mutated or wild type (WT) AML. Cases A 41-year-old man was diagnosed with AML with biallelic CEBPA mutation. A massive infiltration of bone marrow (BM) was detected with 80% of blasts.
