India: Rajasthan inducts 47 electric buses for public transport

Of the 47 electric buses, Rajasthan has allocated 29 units to the state capital, Jaipur, and 18 units to Bhilwara. Chartered Speed purchased these buses from EKA Mobility, a homegrown electric commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Pune, Maharashtra, and is operating them under a gross cost contract basis. Most of the units of the new fleet appear to be the EKA 9M model, which measures 9,200 mm in length, 2,500 mm in width, and 3,200 mm in height and has a 4,800 mm wheelbase.

India to slash tariffs on UK-made cars starting in July

According to one of the FTA documents released by the UK government, India will lower the customs duty on ICE cars from as high as 110 per cent to as low as 10 per cent, based on engine capacity and fuel type. It will implement these reductions in phases, starting at 30 per cent in the first year and reaching 10 per cent across all engine capacities and fuel types in the fifth year.

India: UP deploys 45 e-buses, 3 hydrogen buses for public transport

UP has deployed the electric and hydrogen buses to offer zero-emission connectivity from Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna City to the new Jewar International Airport. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said at the flag-off ceremony that the state planned to expand the fleet to 110 units by the time commercial operations at the airport began on 15 June, and later to 500 units.
