The New Avengers, consisting of Six of Marvel's most dangerous loners, have united to defeat the traitor. New Avengers, a summer release by Sam Humphries and Ton Lima, had originally been known as New Thunderbolts. They brought together an unexpected group of characters inspired by the run-of-the-mill Brian Michael Bendis and David Finch's series. As a result, the team is now united, but not effectively. When they find out that the Killuminati had been created by another group, trust will diminish.

Marvel Comics unveiled Thunderbolts* as New Avengers yesterday, and this week, we learned more about Killuminati, the group of twisted villains being featured in a series written by Sam Humphries and Ton Lima. During an exclusive interview with IGN, Humphries explained that the Illuminati was originally made up of seven kings and heroes from different parts of the Marvel Universe.
