Declining union membership could be making working-class Americans less happy and more susceptible to drug overdoses Original
When fewer people belong to unions and unions have less power, the impact goes beyond wages and job security. Those changes can hurt public health and make people more unhappy. We’re economists who research labor and health issues. Those are two of the main findings of studies that we have conducted. More unionization, more happiness In the first study on this topic that we published in 2023, we found that increasing levels of union membership tends to make working-class people happier.

Designing a Secure and Efficient Campus Carpooling System: A Comprehensive Software Requirement Specification
You are already at the latest version This study presents an official Software Requirement Specification (SRS) of a campus carpooling system to enhance transport efficiency, reduce traffic congestion, and ensure user safety. The report outlines functional and non-functional requirements, quality requirements, and acceptance conditions for system deployment.
Enhancing Campus Mobility: A Requirement Engineering Approach to a Carpool System for University Students and Staff
You are already at the latest version The increasing requirement for efficient, cost-effective, and green transport has led to the implementation of a campus carpool scheme. In this paper, we discuss the process of engineering requirements for developing a carpool system to match university staff and students for daily commute on a shared basis. With the application of formal elicitation techniques, i.e., surveys and interviews, we elicited key user requirements and system constraints.
Neurovascular Mechanisms of Cognitive Aging: Sex-Related Differences in the Average Progression of Arteriosclerosis, White Matter Atrophy, and Cognitive Decline
Abstract Arterial stiffness (arteriosclerosis) has been linked to heightened risks for cognitive decline, and ultimately for Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Importantly, neurovascular outcomes generally vary according to one's biological sex.
Neurovascular Mechanisms of Cognitive Aging: Arteriosclerosis Precipitates Demyelination and Cognitive Decline
Abstract Cerebrovascular support is critical for healthy cognitive aging--arterial stiffness (arteriosclerosis) has been linked to heightened risks for cognitive decline, and ultimately for Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Conversely, neurovascular health is supported by lifestyle factors, including cardiorespiratory fitness.
Microplastics in fish culture ponds: abundance, characterization, and contamination risk assessment
1 Introduction Plastics have enhanced the quality of life for millions of people throughout the world. Approximately 390.7 million tons of plastic products were generated globally in 2021, of which 4.8 and 12.7 million tons were discharged into aquatic environments each year (PEMRG, 2022).
TESTING FOR SPATIAL EQUILIBRIUM USING HAPPINESS DATA
Happiness data are rarely used in regional and urban analysis, but it is a prime data set for testing the assumption of spatial equilibrium, the key assumption in the field of urban economics. In this paper, we explore the relationship between regional happiness and one‐year lagged change in population growth rates for the nine census regions in the United States using data on reported well‐being from National Opinion Research Center's annual General Social Survey.
