The heat wave that has been scorching Europe for weeks created the perfect environment for climate disinformation actors to spread false and misleading claims on the matter. The extreme temperatures are causing widespread wildfires and appear to be connected to a rising death toll across Europe. According to the World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus more than 1,300 excess deaths had been recorded between 21 and 28 June “linked to high temperatures in Europe”.

CLAIM: Social media users are claiming to know Ozzy Osbourne's cause of death. Their theories are ranging from assisted suicide to the COVID-19 vaccine. BACKGROUND: Ozzy Osbourne, world-renowned musician and frontman of the Black Sabbath, died at the age of 76 on the morning of July 22, 2025. His family released a statement announcing his death later that day, but did not disclose the cause of death. METHOD: Osbourne's cause of death was not revealed by any official source.
