Chef and Bay Area broadcast personality Narsai David has died following a fall in his home last year, his former radio station, KCBS reported Friday. David was 87 years old. The son of Assyrian immigrants, David got his start in the Bay Area culinary industry in the late 1950s at Henry Rubin and Ed Brown’s Pot Luck Restaurant in Berkeley. In 1970, David opened his own restaurant in Kensington, followed by a specialty market in 1978.
