John Glenn sees historic softball season end in semi-state semifinal

MONTICELLO — All good things must come to an end. That was the case Saturday, June 6 for the history-making John Glenn softball team. The magical postseason push by the gritty, resilient and determined Falcons finally came to its end in the rain-delayed Class 3A Twin Lakes Semi-state, falling 6-2 to East Noble in a semifinal contest. The second semifinal game of the day was pushed back from a 1 p.m. start and began at 3:11 p.m. after heavy rain hit the area Saturday morning.

Penn, Saint Joseph tennis teams see seasons end at IHSAA semi-state

Olivia Wu of Penn and Libby Yergler of South Bend Saint Joseph each extended their prep tennis seasons as individuals Saturday, May 30. Their respective team's seasons come to an end in the semi-state round of the state tournament series, though. The No. 9 Kingsmen fell to No. 16 Carroll 3-2 in the IHSAA Homestead Semi-state. The No. 12 Huskies dropped a 4-1 final to No. 3 Carmel in the Culver Academies Semi-state. Penn, which lost in the quarterfinals at state in 2025, finished at 19-3.

Elkhart softball squad uses offense to claim second straight sectional title Original

All in a very good way though when it comes to the game. The Lions used small ball to light up another scoreboard in a big way to claim a second straight sectional championship. Paced by star Ava Walker, the fast and furious Lions rolled past host Northridge 13-7 in the title game of the Class 4A Northridge Sectional on Jayco Field at the beautiful Jane Allen Athletic Complex.
