Lady Mustangs dominate Chargers on SCC play

The Lady Mustang softball team used a pair of late inning rallies to down Chariton 13-3 in South Central Conference play last week. It was Davis County’s final road game of the regular season on June 29. Davis County tagged Chariton for seven hits and 13 runs in the game. Ally Baterson had a huge game on both sides of the ball. She had just one hit, but led the team with five RBIs. She also pitched the team to victory going five innings allowing three runs on four hits.

Mustangs struggle offensively in District Tourney loss

The Mustang baseball team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Pella Christian on July 3 in the opening round of the Class 2A District Tournament. Pella Christian won the game 7-6. The Eagles held Davis County scoreless in the final three innings to secure the win. Davis County has been a team that has scored the majority of its runs late in games this season. In fact, the fifth and sixth innings are the two innings in which Davis County has secured most of its offensive production.
