FDOH issues water advisory for several Miami-Dade beaches

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Dangerous beach bacteria have been reported across South Florida coasts. The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County has issued a water quality advisory for Golden Beach, North Shore Ocean Terrace at 73rd Street, and Bark Beach at 79th Street in Miami Beach. Samples showed an above-average level of bacteria. The FDOH has urged against water-related activities due to an increased risk of illness among swimmers.

Absolute Legend: Doberman found malnourished in North Miami Beach released from hospital amid recovery

HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (WSVN) - A Doberman puppy is out of the hospital and on the road to recovery after he was found malnourished in North Miami Beach. The dog, named Legend, was discharged Friday from the Hollywood Animal Hospital as he continues his recovery from a long list of health issues. The 1-year-old Doberman was found Tuesday malnourished near Northwest 167th Street and Eighth Avenue. Legend was covered with mysterious spots when he was found.

Broward County’s Public Defender’s Office hosts 35 South Florida students for annual summer internship program

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - Nearly three dozen students in Broward County learned a lesson in the law as they took a big step toward a career in the criminal justice system. Students took over a courtroom as the Broward County’s Public Defender’s Office hosted 35 high school students for a two-week internship for its annual Summer Justice Internship Program.
