NEW HOME, Texas (KCBD) - The New Home Leopard baseball team are rounding out their 2025-2026 season holding up the 2A Division 1 State Championship trophy after defeating #10 Iola 7-2 in the title game on Thursday at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, making them the final Extra Innings Team of the Week of the season. Prior to this State Championship title, the Leopards had been unable to clinch the State title with six trips since 2018, but this year they would not be denied.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The 4th ranked New Home Leopards and the 9th ranked Ropes Eagles are this week’s Extra Innings Teams of the Week after both teams won their respective 2A State Semifinal series to advance onto the State Championship games. The Leopards faced #1 Tom Bean in the 2AD1 State Semifinals, winning game one 5-1, falling in game two 6-5 off a walk off by Tom Bean forcing a game three winner take all. New Home had an explosive game three ending the Tom Cats season with the 18-6 win.
