1 Introduction Few foods embody a paradox as sharply as ripened cheese.
Disruption of ACTG1 potentiates anti-TIM-3 immunotherapy by reprogramming the immunosuppressive microenvironment via the CSF3/CSF3R axis in pancreatic cancer
Abstract Background: The limited immune infiltration observed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a major factor contributing to immunotherapy resistance and the consistently poor prognosis. Hence, identifying novel therapeutic targets and developing effective combination strategies to overcome immunotherapy resistance represent urgent and unmet clinical needs. Methods: The gene expression datasets and corresponding clinical information were collected from TCGA, GEO and ICGC.
Hippocampal AdipoR1 regulates the microglial response and delays disease progression in a mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease
Abstract Adiponectin, a key regulator of peripheral lipid metabolism, exhibits a positive correlation between its reduced peripheral and central levels and cognitive function in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Previous studies suggest that adiponectin primarily crosses the blood–brain barrier to exert its neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects within the brain. However, the detailed mechanisms through which adiponectin improves cognitive function in AD remain unclear.

Neoadjuvant ctDNA-MRD monitoring uncovers occult progression despite radiologic response in locally advanced hypopharyngeal carcinoma: a case report
Abstract Background: The assessment of treatment response during neoadjuvant therapy for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) relies largely on radiographic and endoscopic evaluations, which may fail to detect minimal residual disease (MRD). Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)-based MRD monitoring has emerged as a sensitive biomarker capable of revealing molecular disease activity that is not captured by imaging. Evidence supporting its use in the neoadjuvant setting of HNSCC remains limited.

Numerical Simulation and Optimization Study on the Flow Field Characteristics of a Double-Slot Spillway
1. Introduction The spillway is a crucial component of high dam water-release structures [1,2,3,4], designed to discharge floodwaters that exceed the reservoir’s storage capacity and ensure the structural safety of the dam. Effective energy dissipation in spillway structures is a crucial factor ensuring the safe operation of hydraulic projects [5]. In steep terrain, conventional spillway designs often necessitate a broader chute cross section to accommodate large design flood discharges.
We propose and demonstrate a reconfigurable 4 × 4 multi-input multi-output (MIMO) all-optical unitary converter (OUC) based on non-uniform multimode interference (nMMI-OUC) on a lithium-niobate-on-insulator (LNOI) platform, which has the advantages of broadband operation, compactness, low loss, and fabrication-friendliness. To enhance the bandwidth, compact non-uniform multimode interference is utilized to replace uniform multimode interference, achieving the same cross talk and larger bandwidth.

Development of a Real-Time NOx Prediction Soft Sensor Algorithm for Power Plants Based on a Hybrid Boost Integration Model
1. Introduction Nitrogen oxides, generally known as NOxs, are some of the most important hazardous air pollutants from industry [1,2]. In China, the NOx emission in the waste gas of industrial sources was about 8.957 million tons in 2022 [3]. When emitted into the atmosphere, NOx undergoes a series of photochemical reactions with volatile organic compounds under the UV light of sun radiation to generate irritating photochemical smog [4,5]. NOx also reacts with O2 and H2O to form acid rain [6].

Community assessment of methods to deconvolve cellular composition from bulk gene expression - Nature Communications
|
Abstract We evaluate deconvolution methods, which infer levels of immune infiltration from bulk expression of tumor samples, through a community-wide DREAM Challenge. We assess six published and 22 community-contributed methods using in vitro and in silico transcriptional profiles of admixed cancer and healthy immune cells. Several published methods predict most cell types well, though they either were not trained to evaluate all functional CD8+ T cell states or do so with low accuracy.
