Spoiled. Narcissistic. Self-destructive. Thoughtless. Badly in need of a good ass-kicking. These are phrases the late, great food guru Anthony Bourdain used to describe his teenage incarnation in his self-affacing autobiography, Kitchen Confidential. The same terms could be equally applied by adorable enfant terrible Matt Johnson to his past self; he's expressed similar sentiments of being weary with the precious, impolite and rebellious young creative he once was.

If the recent boom of public domain horror has proven anything, it's that making something scary that wasn't originally scary rarely makes it truly scary. The filmmakers at Jagged Edge Productions have discovered this and continued anyway. Subversions of Winnie-the-Pooh in the dismal Blood and Honey films proved there's one joke to making the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood into Leatherface and co.

I co-edited the Film section of my university's newspaper (The Courier at Newcastle University) for two years.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, not often, but I'd love to get one, write a short story and never edit it. I like the idea of how raw it is.

Making it slipperier! Reducing things down to misleading headlines for clicks is a dangerous game.
