A 25-year-old Norwich man who was high on fentanyl when he rammed a police cruiser and who two months later sped through a highway construction zone, led police on a chase and crashed into another vehicle was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison. Marcus Douton was sentenced in New London Superior Court as part of a plea agreement to settle pending cases in multiple jurisdictions.

Waterford — General Dynamics Electric Boat said Thursday that it expects to open its training centers in the former Crystal Mall by September and reach “significant employee occupancy” by mid-2027. The company also said renovations of anchor stores will begin later this year. It expects the various offices and training centers that will be in the main part of the building to be done in September.

HARTFORD — A man who was under the influence when he was involved in an Andover crash has been ordered detained for illegally reentering the U.S., officials said Wednesday. Belin Antonio Gonzalez-Garcia, 39, a Honduran citizen, appeared Tuesday in federal court in Hartford after being taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on June 23, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut David Sullivan said in a news release.
