Through iterations of motifs that teem with variations on one letter – D sharp followed by D natural then D flat and finally a double octave – a denial of poetry evolves. What makes for euphony in stanzas forfeits unity in staves.

Exposed like bones on robbed mass graves, lone characters stick out in postwar sketches. Skeletons swerve helter-skelter in glissandi; glinting rubble flits in swift motifs. Shrill feats of insubordination rail against despotic themes unnoticed: no one hears. Dissembling errors in their dissonance, these compositions have escape doors for the rhythmically unhinged.
