Yes, and I never want to use one again.
How is social media changing news?
Social media is killing media literacy. Many people cannot tell the difference between news, commentary, opinion, and sponcon.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
A journalist’s job is, first and foremost, to provide honest and unbiased information that helps readers make informed decisions.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I prefer to receive relevant pitches via email. I read every pitch I receive and always reply if the pitch is relevant.

Why did you become a journalist?
It’s the only job where I could possibly fit in. I love research, adore conversations with interesting people, and absolutely must write.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I wish! I took the left hand path and wrote horrible fiction and poetry instead.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Mornings. Once I start writing, I close my email until the end of the day.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
I’m still waiting for the best pitch.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Most pitches from small agencies that specialize in events coverage are horrible and irrelevant.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Many people believe tech journalism is simply providing opinions and regurgitating press releases. Nothing could be further from the truth.
