The 2026 NHL Draft run is in its infancy, but that’s not stopping Parker Snell of grabbing some early attention. Finding a goaltender in the 2026 draft will be a priority for most NHL teams, and Snell could fit the bill. Still, it’s still way too early to pick a top candidate in the 2026 class to fill that moniker, but keep an eye on Snell —who tends goal for Edmonton in the Western Hockey League.

Keaton Verhoeff shining For Canada at Hlinka Gretzky Cup

Keaton Verhoeff was expected by many to make an instant impact at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Slovakia and Czechia. Rightfully so. As one of the top 16-year-old players in the Canadian Hockey League last season, he had 45 points (21 goals, 24 assists) in 63 games in the regular season, and added another 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in 11 games in the playoffs, with Victoria in the Western Hockey League.

The 2026 NHL Draft scouting season will officially get underway with the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. The 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup gets underway Monday from Brno, Czechia, and Trencin, Slovakia, from Aug. 11-16, and will play host to some of the top prospects for the 2026 NHL Draft. Keaton Verhoeff highlights a star-studded Canada roster, and Jack Hextall looks to lead the USA to a medal. There’s plenty of talent to keep your eyes on, to say the least.

It is changing how people consume news for sure. Instead of picking up a newspaper or turning on the tv people go straight to Twitter.
