On Saturday, Jun. 6, OKTAGON hosted OKTAGON 89, live from Tipos Arena in Bratislava, Slovakia. This was planned as a marquee event with flyweight Zhalgas Zhumagulov champ coming up in weight to challenge Igor Severino for the bantamweight crown. The fight was fantastic for two and a half rounds with both men landing lots of offense. But a left body shot from Severino drifted just below the belt and put Zhumagulov down.

LFA 234 Results and Video: Fernando Stops Soares in Round 1, Defends Belt

On Friday, May 29, Legacy Fighting Alliance hosted LFA 234 live from Ginãsio do Polvilho in Cajamar, São Paulo, Brazil. Just like the last event, this LFA offering had two belts on the line. In the main event Lucas Fernando defended his light heavyweight title in brutal fashion. He ripped leg kicks into Leon Soares, dropping him after just two minutes. He then landed a couple of punches on the ground before the referee could call him off. That was Fernando’s first defense.

Combat Press Sumo Rankings: May 2026

Grand Sumo starts up again this weekend with the 2026 natsu basho (summer tournament). The official ranking for this tournament came out a few weeks ago. Those rankings will determine who everyone fights in the first week of the 15 day tournament. Those rankings are determined based on wrestlers’ win-loss records from the previous tournament (the 2026 haru basho, in this case).
