BARTLETT — A proposal to develop a roughly 20-acre gravel pit in Glen remains on hold after members of the Planning Board on July 6 concluded they need legal clarification on whether the project is allowed under the town's zoning ordinance before accepting a formal application. Board chair Scott Grant said town staff would seek information from the N.H. Municipal Association between now and the board’s next meeting Aug. 3 on whether a gravel pit is a permitted use.

CONWAY — From a 42-minute parade Saturday in Conway Village to spirited music and food that afternoon and evening in North Conway’s Schouler Park, capped by a 17-minute fireworks display, Conway celebrated the nation’s 250th with patriotic flair. “We were really happy with how well everything went and I can’t thank my staff enough. Everyone seemed to be in a great mood of just wanting to have a good time, celebrating the country’s 250th,” said Mike Lane, Parks and Rec director.
