Interested in revisiting their most beloved work, Granzella then got hold of the R-Type licence for 2007’s R-Type Tactics, a turn-based strategy affair for Sony’s PSP. A sequel followed in 2009. Tactical strategy games are for a special breed of player. You need time, abundant patience, and willpower.

Reviews Nintendo Switch The third thunder Version Reviewed: European Captured on Nintendo Switch (Handheld/Undocked) One could be forgiven for thinking they missed an entry in this storied R-Type series of re-releases, but in fact the preceding R-Type Dimensions released in 2009 (and again as R-Type Dimensions EX in 2018) contained both the first two games in one package. R-Type III: The Third Lightning was first released for Super Nintendo in 1993.

Reviews Switch eShop The force is with you Version Reviewed: European Captured on Nintendo Switch (Docked) In R-TYPE DX: Music Encore, we have a release aimed at a niche gaming subset in much the same way as SNK’s Neo Geo Pocket collections. As such, some affection for both the era and the original hardware is necessary to appreciate what is essentially a reconstituted, miniaturised version of a much larger arcade game.

Professionally, writing for The Argus, a Sussex-based Newspaper. Eternally grateful to Will Freeman for getting me in. I was a nobody.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

My mum had an old one I used to mess around with as a kid, trying to compose short stories. All that Tippex though.

How is social media changing news?

In some respects it improves legitimacy and in others it tramples all over it, muddying the waters and becoming its own strain of propaganda.
