Tom Massey’s Biography

Happily stuck in the past, I focus on games of a 2D nature and historically rooted series newly re-released or otherwise. I also do a line in Far Eastern travel writing that includes arcade angles and the gaming habits of players from other continents.

What was your first job as a journalist?

Professionally, writing for The Argus, a Sussex-based Newspaper. Eternally grateful to Will Freeman for getting me in. I was a nobody.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

My mum had an old one I used to mess around with as a kid, trying to compose short stories. All that Tippex though.

How is social media changing news?

In some respects it improves legitimacy and in others it tramples all over it, muddying the waters and becoming its own strain of propaganda.
