As the sound of the gong echoed from afar, the crowd on the banks of the Kien Giang River began to stir. Those who were sitting stood up, young people rushed towards the river's edge, and children were lifted high by their parents; all looked towards the oars that were gradually appearing in the middle of the river. The oars became clearly visible, and the village's name immediately rang out, blending with the sound of drums and gongs.

Abstract Situated within the field of adult education, this retrospective narrative inquiry examined the transformation of a female teacher’s epistemological beliefs as she engaged in a research-based Master’s program in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. Informed by Mezirow’s Transformative Learning Theory, data were generated by two rounds of semi-structured interviews with the participant, complemented by two outsider perspectives.

You are already at the latest version This paper develops a systematic philosophical dialogue between Kantian autonomy and Buddhist ethics in relation to freedom, moral agency, and moral cultivation. And in place of a hierarchic or reductionist juxtaposition, it is rather a question of how each tradition articulates the ethical normativity it adheres to in relation to specific philosophical problems.
