WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump says he's hitting the streets of D.C. on Thursday night to join law enforcement during their operations in the city. The president told "The Mighty 990" radio host Todd Starnes that he'd be out in D.C., but didn't specify what area. “I'm going to be going out tonight, I think, with the police, and with the military, of course,” the president told Starnes.

1 dead, 1 wounded in Prince George's County shooting near DC border

The shooting happened near a shopping center called Eastover Center, which has several businesses and fast food restaurants. WASHINGTON — One person is dead and another is injured after a shooing in Prince George's County ─ just south of the Washington, D.C. border, the police department confirmed Wednesday. Just after 2 p.m., Prince George's County Police received a call about a shooting in the 5100 block Indian Head Highway.

West Virginia National Guard to deploy troops in Washington after Trump loses court battle over DC Police

WASHINGTON — Less than 24 hours after the Trump administration lost a court battle over who controls the Metropolitan Police Department, the governor of West Virginia announced he was sending his state's National Guard troops to support President Trump's efforts in the nation's capital. The Mountain State is sending hundreds of troops to Washington, D.C. at the request of the president, according to a release from West Virginia state government.
