Emergency clean-up ordered at Biloela's Essential Spill

Emergency stabilisation works have been carried out by the Department of Environment at a Biloela waste business after years of clean-up orders and community complaints. The department has been issuing notices and fines to Essential Spill on Callide Street since 2022 ordering the clean-up of hazardous materials and chemicals, all of which it says have been ignored. New drivers inducted in Rockhampton for the last working Purrey steam tram in the world

Very few people in the world can say they have driven a Purrey steam tram, and as of this week that number has increased by two. "It's very, very cool, it's quite a thrill," new driver Jo Webb said. "It's the last working one in the world. We're very lucky to have it and we're very lucky she's still going." The crowd at the opening of the Rockhampton Tramways on June 5, 1909.
