Sediment rheology governs wave damping over muddy shelves
Abstract Muddy continental shelves protect many vulnerable coastlines by dissipating storm-wave energy, yet their buffering capacity remains difficult to predict because the rheology of fluid mud is poorly represented in existing coastal models. Here we show that a physics-based model incorporating independently measured, shear-rate-dependent mud rheology can predict wave damping without calibration to wave attenuation observations.

Spatial multi-omics identifies early synaptic pruning and context-specific dopaminergic vulnerability in synucleinopathies
Abstract Parkinson’s disease (PD) is characterized by degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta, but the molecular events preceding neuronal loss remain unclear. Here, we combine spatial transcriptomics, spatial proteomics, and α-synuclein (αSyn) seed amplification assays to profile post-mortem midbrain tissue from controls, incidental Lewy body disease (iLBD), PD, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and AD with Lewy body pathology (AD + LBP).
RANKL Attenuates Sepsis‐Associated Acute Lung Injury Through the OPG/RANKL/RANK/TLR4 Pathway
1 Introduction Sepsis is a serious condition characterized by organ dysfunction stemming from an uncontrolled response to infection. This condition poses a significant threat to life, with excessive inflammation and multiple organ failures contributing to its high mortality rates [1]. During sepsis, the activated inflammatory cells release numerous inflammatory mediators, causing severe damage to tissues and organs.

The Role of Abatacept on Inflammation and Fibrosis in Hypochlorous Acid‐Induced Fibrosis Mice
1 Introduction Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a systemic autoimmune disease of unknown etiology characterized by microvascular disease, abnormal autoimmune response, and progressive fibrosis [1-3]. Dysregulation of both immunity and inflammation plays a prominent part in SSc. The activated immune cells have been highlighted in the early stages of the disease [4-7].
Fault Diagnosis of Wind Turbine Gearbox Based on Improved Multivariate Variational Mode Decomposition and Ensemble Refined Composite Multivariate Multiscale Dispersion Entropy
1. Introduction Planetary gearboxes are common transmission components with a large carrying capacity, high transmission ratio, and balance torque. They have been widely used in wind turbines. As the operating conditions of a planetary gearbox are often severe, with harsh environments, there will be frequent damage to its internal components [1]. Failures of the planetary gearbox will influence the transmission efficiency and may even lead to serious damage to the entirety of the equipment [2].

SAA3 deficiency exacerbates intestinal fibrosis in DSS-induced IBD mouse model - Cell Death Discovery Original
Abstract Intestinal fibrosis, as a late-stage complication of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), leads to bowel obstruction and requires surgical intervention, significantly lowering the quality of life of affected patients. SAA3, a highly conserved member of the serum amyloid A (SAA) apolipoprotein family in mice, is synthesized primarily as an acute phase reactant in response to infection, inflammation and trauma.

Design and Analysis of an Adaptive Cable-Driven Manipulator Capable of Actively Transitioning between Two-Point Clamping and Envelope Grasping
1. Introduction There are still certain challenges for adaptive stable grasping on targets such as vulnerable bodies and irregular parts. The key to solving this problem is to design the manipulator with certain adaptability and flexibility for multimode active switching. Therefore, this work focuses on researching a manipulator that can achieve active switching between two-point clamping and envelope grasping.

[2308.04011] Generalization bound for estimating causal effects from observational network data
Estimating causal effects from observational network data is a significant but challenging problem. Existing works in causal inference for observational network data lack an analysis of the generalization bound, which can theoretically provide support for alleviating the complex confounding bias and practically guide the design of learning objectives in a principled manner.

Protein-Based High Internal Phase Pickering Emulsions: A Review of Their Fabrication, Composition and Future Perspectives in the Food Industry
Abstract : Protein-based high internal phase Pickering emulsions (HIPEs) are emulsions using protein particles as a stabilizer in which the volume fraction of the dispersed phase exceeds 74%. Stabilizers are irreversibly adsorbed at the interface of the oil phase and water phase to maintain the droplet structure. Protein-based HIPEs have shown great potential for a variety of fields, including foods, due to the wide range of materials, simple preparation, and good biocompatibility.
Three-dimensional direct numerical simulations of vortex-induced vibrations of a circular cylinder in proximity to a stationary wall
Abstract In this paper, we present three-dimensional direct numerical simulations (3D DNS) of vortex-induced vibrations of an elastically mounted circular cylinder near a stationary wall at a subcritical Reynolds number of 500. The circular cylinder can oscillate in both the streamwise and transverse directions.

The function of ncRNAs in rheumatic diseases
Rheumatic diseases are chronic autoimmune inflammatory disorders caused by perturbations of the innate and adaptive immune systems and of cellular activity, which result in substantial inflammatory responses and tissue damage. The main rheumatic diseases include rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM), systemic sclerosis (SSc) and Sjögren’s syndrome (pSS).
