Qualitative study on influencing factors of acceptance of advance care planning in patients with end-stage heart failure based on COM-B theory
Abstract Objective: Patients with end-stage heart failure (ESHF) face high mortality and complex decision-making needs, yet advance care planning (ACP) acceptance is insufficient in clinical practice. This study aimed to explore factors influencing ACP acceptance among ESHF patients based on the COM-B model, focusing on knowledge deficits, familism, filial piety, and death taboo, to provide evidence for developing culturally adapted ACP interventions in China.
ZDHHC8-mediated S-palmitoylation of RAD21 causes mitochondrial dysfunction in diabetic nephropathy via inhibiting ACSM3 transcription

Abstract Tubulointerstitial injury exerts a key role in diabetic nephropathy (DN) development; however, its potential mechanism is still unclear. We explored the role and molecular mechanisms of RAD21 cohesin complex component (RAD21) in mitochondrial dysfunction during tubulointerstitial injury of DN. We found that RAD21 was down-regulated, but its S-palmitoylation level was up-regulated in DN.
