Inter-institutional perspectives on usage of fibrinogen replacement therapies in North America
The majority of surveyed institutions in North America used cryoprecipitate for fibrinogen replacement, and over half used cryoprecipitate alone. Cost was the most important indication for limitations on the usage of fibrinogen concentrate (FC), and most respondents perceived lower cost to be the most important advantage of cryoprecipitate over FC.

GOT1 promotes endometrial cancer progression by regulating ferroptosis through the STAT3-GPX4 axis and attenuating medroxyprogesterone acetate sensitivity
Abstract Ferroptosis plays a critical role in tumor development and treatment response, but its regulatory mechanisms in endometrial cancer (EC) are not well understood. This study aimed to identify ferroptosis-related genes in EC and explore their roles and mechanisms. Differentially expressed genes from EC datasets were intersected with ferroptosis-related gene sets to identify key candidates.
Development and validation of a personalized web-based calculator of aggressive recurrence after surgery for early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma by machine learning
Background: Aggressive recurrence (AR) is an important factor affecting prognosis after surgery for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This study aimed to establish and evaluate a visual calculator to predict AR using by machine learning (ML) model. Methods: Patients diagnosed with HCC at an early stage were reviewed. The prediction ability of each model was evaluated using accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision, F1 score, and the area under the curve (AUC).

4.6. Chemistry 4.6.1. General Synthesis for Compound 3(a–j) To a solution of methylthiosalicylate 1 (1 equiv) in 50 mL of THF, 2(a–j) (1.1 equiv) and then triethylamine were added (1.1 equiv). The resulting reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 min. Then, the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo, dissolved in DCM, and washed with 1 N HCl and brine. The combined organic layers (3 × 50 mL) were dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo.

SIRT7 facilitates endometrial cancer progression by regulating PTEN stability in an estrogen-dependent manner - Nature Communications
Abstract The prognosis of metastatic endometrial carcinoma (EC), one of the most common gynecological malignancies worldwide, remains poor, and the underlying driver of metastases is poorly understood. Dysregulation in estrogen-related signaling and inactivation of tumor suppressor PTEN are two essential risk factors of EC. However, whether and how they are interconnected during EC development remains unclear.

'Mitotic' kinesin-5 is a dynamic brake for axonal growth
Abstract During neuronal development, neurons undergo significant microtubule reorganization to shape axons and dendrites, establishing the framework for efficient wiring of the nervous system. Previous studies from our laboratory demonstrated the key role of kinesin-1 in driving microtubule-microtubule sliding, which provides the mechanical forces necessary for early axon outgrowth and regeneration in Drosophila melanogaster.
EB-SUN, a New Microtubule Plus-End Tracking Protein in Drosophila.
Abstract Microtubule (MT) regulation is essential for oocyte development. In Drosophila, MT stability, polarity, abundance, and orientation undergo dynamic changes across developmental stages. In our effort to identify novel microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs) that regulate MTs in the Drosophila ovary, we identified a previously uncharacterized gene, CG18190, encoding a novel MT end-binding (EB) protein, which we propose to name EB-SUN.

Angular dispersion and diffraction imaging analysis in a light wave oblique incident two-dimensional crossed grating
Based on the vector diffraction theory, the angular dispersion and diffraction imaging are analyzed in parallel light oblique incident two-dimensional crossed gratings. The results show that the angular dispersion presents a kind of increase-decrease-increase oscillatory change, and the maximum value of diffractive polar angle dispersion and total dispersion present an abrupt point. The angular dispersion is limited by the light wave incidence angle and two-dimensional gratings crossed angle.

Serologic Reactivity of Unidentified Specificity in Antenatal Testing and Hemolytic Disease of the Fetus and Newborn: The BEST Collaborative Study
BACKGROUND: The clinical significance of serologic reactivity of unidentified specificity (SRUS) in pregnancy is not clear based on available literature. The aim of this study is to determine if SRUS is associated with hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN). Self-organized intracellular twisters - Nature Physics
Abstract Life in complex systems, such as cities and organisms, comes to a standstill when global coordination of mass, energy and information flows is disrupted. Global coordination is no less important in single cells, especially in large oocytes and newly formed embryos, which commonly use fast fluid flows for dynamic reorganization of their cytoplasm.

A novel covalent organic framework for efficient photocatalytic reduction of Cr(vi) and synergistic removal of organic pollutants under visible light irradiation† Polluted wastewater containing organic pollutants and heavy metals is increasing and harms environmental ecosystems and human health. Designing and producing an efficient photocatalyst is therefore crucial for treating polluted wastewater.

The Bicaudal-D/Egalitarian complex defines the specificity of cargo transport by Dynein.
Abstract Numerous motors of the Kinesin family contribute to plus-end microtubule transport. However, almost all transport towards the minus-end of microtubules involves a single motor, cytoplasmic Dynein (Dynein). To gain motility, Dynein must interact with activating cargo adaptors. One such adaptor is Bicaudal-D (BicD; BICD2 in humans). Mutations in BICD2 are associated with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a degenerative motor neuron disease.
Nanoscale architect: Illuminating the key organizer of the fruit fly’s sensory world
Mechanosensation, the fundamental capacity to perceive and respond to mechanical stimuli in the environment, constitutes the core of animals’ interactions with the world. This remarkable process converts external physical forces into neural signals transmitted to the brain, forming the basis for sensory experiences like touch, pain, hearing, proprioception, and balance maintenance.
