LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bristol Bar and Grille, the locally owned restaurant institution in Louisville since 1977, is closing its 23-year-old downtown Louisville location this Saturday. WHAS 11 News confirmed with TJ Oakley, Vice President of Operations,  that the doors will close at 9 p.m. on May 24th.

FAA says unauthorized runway entry forces UPS jet to go around

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is blaming the pilot of a small plane after a close call forced a UPS jet to abort its landing at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. The incident happened just after midnight Tuesday. According to the FAA, air traffic control instructed UPS Airlines Flight 1303 to perform a go-around after another aircraft entered the runway without authorization. Audio from air traffic control captures the tense moments as controllers realized the conflict.

Mary Pat Sexton is the granddaughter of someone few in our city can claim.Austin Higgins was a player, captain, and coach on Louisvilles first and only NFL team from 1921 to 1924.Sexton says, "The team was the Louisville Breckenridge. They were known as the Brecks. A lot of them went to Male High School, and Male was located on Breckinridge Street."Photos show large crowds of men and boys standing along the sidelines.
