Machine learning screening the feasibility for self-propagating reactions of the MAX and MAB phases with ab initio dataset
Abstract As a rapid, scalable, and eco-friendly synthesis method, the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) is widely applied for ceramics, however, whose development is always limited by high experimental costs. To address this challenge, a workflow for its feasibility is established by combining first-principles calculations and machine learning to quickly predict SHS reactions of MAX and MAB phases.

Coherently forming a single molecule in an optical trap
Non-Feshbach ultracold molecules The formation of ultracold molecules has already had a profound impact on many research areas of physics. However, conventional methods of producing such molecules are attainable only for a limited number of systems or they suffer for strong dephasing. He et al. sought to pair atoms, through coupling of their spins, to the two-body relative motion mediated by the inherent polarization gradients in a strongly focused trapping laser.
Coherently forming a single molecule in an optical trap
Abstract Ultracold single molecules have wide-spread potential applications, such as ultracold chemistry, precision measurements, quantum simulation and computation. However due to difficulty in full control of a complex atom-molecule system, the coherent formation of single molecules remains a challenge.

The fragmentation of SF6 under O− and Al− negative ion impact
The fragmentation of SF under 15–30 keV O? and 20–30 keV Al? impact has been studied using a crossed beam technique. The recoil ions and ion pairs are identified in coincidence with scattered projectiles with different charge states by the usage of time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectroscopy. The yield ratios of fragment ions to and the yield ratios of ion pairs to (S+, F+) in collision with O? and Al? are obtained and compared with those of H? and C?.
