Abstract Colorectal cancer ranks as the third most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Kaempferol is a natural flavonoid with reported anti-colorectal cancer activity, but its clinical application is limited by poor solubility and low bioavailability. Here we show that hyaluronic acid-modified, pH-sensitive liposomes effectively deliver kaempferol (KA/HLP).

Introduction According to cancer statistics, there will be 19.3 million new cancer cases and nearly 10 million cancer deaths worldwide in 2020. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths, followed by colorectal cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, and stomach cancer (1).
