Environmental change increases the contribution of rare microbial species to ecosystem functioning in agricultural soils
Abstract Understanding the responses of soil microbial communities to environmental change, as well as their contributions to ecosystem functioning under disturbed conditions, is of fundamental importance. Yet, the relative roles of rare and abundant microbes in sustaining soil functions under environmental changes remain poorly understood, particularly in agricultural ecosystems.
Structural and mechanistic insights into the inhibition of Plasmodium falciparum MDR1
Abstract Malaria, caused by the parasite Plasmodium falciparum, remains a significant global health threat, with multidrug resistance posing a major challenge to treatment. The P-glycoprotein homolog P. falciparum Multidrug Resistance Protein 1 (PfMDR1) is a key determinant of resistance to first-line antimalarials like mefloquine (MFQ) and chloroquine.
Case Report: Rapid progression of inflammation-driven coronary artery lesions in a normolipidemic patient with ANCA-associated vasculitis complicated by Stanford type A aortic dissection
Abstract Background: Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) is a systemic autoimmune small- to medium-vessel vasculitis. Reports of rapidly progressive left main/left anterior descending (LM/LAD) disease under normolipidemic conditions with parallel coronary–aortic progression are scarce.

Can the Development of Digital Inclusive Finance Curb Carbon Emissions?: A Spatial Panel Analysis for China Under the PVAR Approach
1. Introduction In recent years, excessive emissions of greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) have led to global warming, and extreme weather events have severely affected human health and normal human production and life; thus, realizing a green transition and reducing CO2 emissions are of great significance to the sustainable development of human beings. In response to these challenges, many countries across the globe have made low-carbon development an important goal [].

Numerical simulation on exhaled aerosol transmission based on realistic oral-nasal structures and temperature distribution
ABSTRACT Respiratory infections are currently understood to be caused by pathogens released through the nose or mouth of an infected individual, and subsequently transmitted to susceptible hosts. These pathogens are enclosed in liquid particles that are aerosolized from the respiratory tract during activities such as breathing, speaking, sneezing, and coughing. These particles vary widely in size, ranging from submicron to several microns.
The resurgence of influenza A/H3N2 virus in Australia after the relaxation of COVID‐19 restrictions during the 2022 season
1 INTRODUCTION Before the emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in December of 2019,1 seasonal influenza caused by influenza A virus (IAV) and influenza B virus resulted in annual epidemics globally, including Australia.

Tuning substituting numbers and position of triphenylamine on benzo[b]furan core to achieve high-efficient deep-blue and blue Emitters
Tuning substituting numbers and position of triphenylamine on benzo[b]furan core to achieve high-efficient deep-blue and blue Emitters High efficiency deep-blue emitters are becoming more urgent for outstanding full-color organic light emitting diode (OLED) display in recent years. With the mind that combining relatively weak acceptor and donor units are expected to raise the energy of charge-transfer (CT) state and achieve deep blue emission.
Remote Sensing | Free Full-Text | An Investigation on the Ionospheric Response to the Volcanic Explosion of Hunga Ha’apai, 2022, Based on the Observations from the Meridian Project: The Plasma Drift Variations
3. Observations and Results On 15 January 2022, a violent eruption occurred at 04:15 UT on Hunga Ha’apai Island in the Kingdom of Tonga, a South Pacific country. The powerful underwater eruption generated tsunami waves that were transmitted to the atmosphere as well []. The eruption process was accompanied by a large number of lightning strikes [], and the outbreak produced acoustic shock waves sufficient to disturb the ionosphere [].
Correspondence on “Structural Insight into the Catalytic Mechanism of the Endoperoxide Synthase FtmOx1”
Abstract In their recent Angewandte Chemie publication (doi: 10.1002/anie.202112063), Cen, Wang, Zhou et al. reported the crystal structure of a ternary complex of the non-heme iron endoperoxidase FtmOx1 (PDB entry 7ETK). The biochemical data assessed in this study were from a retracted study (doi: 10.1038/nature15519) by Zhang, Liu, Zhang et al.; no additional biochemical data were included, yet there was no discussion on the source of the biochemical data in the report by Cen, Wang, Zhou et al.
Correspondence on “Structural Insight into the Catalytic Mechanism of the Endoperoxide Synthase FtmOx1”
Graphical Abstract Recently, Cen, Wang, Zhou et al. reported a crystal structure of a ternary complex of the non-heme iron endoperoxidase FtmOx1 (PDB entry 7ETK) and concluded that it provides evidence supporting the FtmOx1 catalysis CarC-like mechanistic model. However, this work did not accurately describe key mechanistic features and differences of the Carc-like and COX-like models, and their data do not support their conclusions.
